Brown-Headed Cowbird Brown-Headed Nuthatch – Squeaky toy sounds; loves pine trees. Canada Goose Carolina Chickadee Carolina Wren – Loud "Teakettle!" song. Cedar Waxwing – Nomadic winter flocks seeking berries. Chipping Sparrow Common Grackle Cooper's Hawk – Agile hunters that often ambush feeder birds. Dark-Eyed Junco – The "Snowbird." Downy Woodpecker Eastern Bluebird – Permanent resident, though they flock up in winter. Eastern Phoebe – Often listed as hardy migrant. Eastern Towhee – Scratching in the leaf litter.
