Stovetop Candied Yams | Simple Southern Recipe | Ready in 30 Minutes!

Stovetop Candied Yams Recipe: 1 stick (half cup) of unsalted butter 1 cup of brown sugar (or to taste) 1 cup of white sugar (or to taste) 4 medium sweet potatoes Cinnamon and nutmeg to taste 1/3 cup of water *If you don't want your sweet potatoes very sweet, start off with a half cup of each of the sugars. Adjust as needed. Peel and slice sweet potatoes. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add potatoes, sugars, spices, and water. Stir to combine and continue to stir periodically. Cook potatoes for about 30-35 minutes. Cover with lid for about 10-15 anytime during the cooking process to steam the potatoes. When potatoes are cooked through, remove from heat and allow sauce to continue to thicken. ____________________________________ SUBSCRIBE ►   / @foodamentaryadventuresinfood   ADD US ON: Instagram or Facebook   / foodamentaryadventuresinfood     / foodamentaryadventuresinfood   ______________________________ My name is Andrea and I'm married to the love of my life.
