THE POWER OF QURAN | RECITATION OF SURAH AL-WAQIAH | سورة الواقعة | MA'NA DLOMIR SANI

Surah Al-Waqi'ah is one of the surahs that was revealed before the Prophet Muhammad migrated to Medina. This is the opinion of the majority of Qur'anic scholars. Meanwhile, scholars are of the opinion that there are several verses that were revealed after the Prophet Muhammad migrated. Al-Qurthubi, for example, put forward a narration sourced from the Prophet's companion, Ibn Abbas, that verse 82 was revealed in Medina. There is another narration stating that the verse and one previous verse were revealed during the Prophet's journey to Mecca, while verses 39-40 were revealed during the Prophet's journey to Medina during the battle of Tabuk. However, these narrations are not supported by Qur'an experts. Professor Quraish Shihab in the book Tafsir Al-Misbah, Volume XIV, page 541 explains that the main theme of the letter Al-Waqi'ah is a description of the Day of Judgment and an explanation of what will happen on earth, as well as the pleasures that will be obtained by the pious and what will be experienced by the disobedient. [Quraish Shihab in the book Tafsir Al-Misbah, Volume XIV] Furthermore, Professor Quraish Shihab (Indonesia), citing the opinion of al-Biqa'i explained that in the letter there is an explanation of three types of groups: First, people who are very close to Ar-Rahman and are at the forefront of obedience compared to others. The second group is a description of people who are obedient other than them, and the third group is those who clearly commit violations and pretend both from among humans and jinns. Meanwhile, Sheikh Nawawi Al-Bantani, in the book Tafsir Marah Labib, Volume II, page 481 explains the contents of the letter Al-Waqi'ah about the Day of Judgment, which talks about the terribleness of that day, and how humans will be recompensed for their actions in the world. Meaning: "[Surat al-Waqiyah] is a Makkiyah surah, consisting of 97 verses, 398 words, and 1,703 letters." Meaning: O Allah, as You guard our faces from bowing down to anyone other than You, so also protect us from needs other than You, with Your generosity, Your mercy and Your bounty, O the Most Merciful of all the merciful. O Allah, guard our faces with wealth, and do not weaken us with poverty so that we have to seek sustenance from those who seek Your sustenance, and ask for mercy from the humans You created who have bad tempers, and are busy praising those who give us and are tempted to criticize those who do not want to give us. In fact, you are behind it all and have the authority to give or not to give. O Allah, suffice us with Your grace so that we do not need anyone other than You. May Allah bestow mercy and safety on His Majesty the Prophet Muhammad, his family and friends. The text of the prayer above is quoted from the book Abwãbul Faraj by Sheikh Sayyid Muhammad Alawi Al-Maliki Al-Hasani.
