TOPIC: ARE WE AT PEACE EVEN IF WE CANNOT SEE, HEAR, AND FEEL JESUS IN OUR MIDST? First Reading: Acts 14: 19-28 Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 145: 10-11, 12-13ab, 21 Alleluia: Luke 24: 46, 26 Gospel: John 14: 27-31a Jesus advised His apostles not to be afraid and troubled as He announced His return to His Father. He was in effect assuring the apostles that while His physical presence gives them confidence in their mission, the apostles would be able to manage without Him around. Their impending separation and providing for the consequential needs have long been planned and spelled out by God. Similarly, in our work for His mission, our Lord Jesus, may not be physically present in our midst to guide every one of us every step of the way. However, the Lord God uses this scenario for Jesus to work on us and through us by enabling us to be fearless and peaceful, to be consciously aware and appreciative of the greater good of all, and to be selective of the angle from which we can also better view the scenes unfolding before our eyes. This is the 1122nd installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our sister Evelyn Ylagan, CFC HOLD International Coordinator, as she brings us today's reflection. All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
