TOPIC: IS YOUR LIFE A RICH GROUND FOR GOD’S WORD? First Reading: Exodus 16: 1-5, 9-15 Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 78: 18-19, 23-24, 25-26, 27-28 Gospel: Matthew 13: 1-9 In today’s Gospel reading Jesus gives a parable about a sower throwing seeds that fell on different kinds of grounds. The seeds fell on rocky, shallow and thorny ground while some also fell on rich soil that allowed the seeds to grow and bear fruit abundantly. This sowing act of God reveals something about the lives of the saints and the life He is calling us too as well. In the day-to-day events of our lives there are unmistakable instances wherein the voice of God calling us comes loud and clear. These are seeds that God sows at various times and sometimes these seeds fall on us when our circumstances proved rocky, shallow or thorny. But these seeds will bear fruit, a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold, if we decide to listen to that voice of God that will turn us into rich soil, and let that encounter set us down the path of a long and winding road that will lead to our sanctification. This is the 1197th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our brother Raymond Bucu, Head of the CFC Gateway Evangelization Programs, as he brings us today's reflection. All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
