Greg joins them and naturally the discussion turns to how their lives have changed since. It seems that Sally has got married (and she has the diamond ring to prove it!)... As for Greg, well, his life has taken a rather different course... Level: B2 -- C1 Topic: Relationships. Long time no see… (kisses her) S: This… this is Vicky… G: Hello Vicky! Very nice to meet you… V: Very nice to meet you too, Greg… G: So, it must be – bloody hell – what, a year now? S: Three years… G: Three years since you dumped me… Broke my heart… So, what’s been happening? S: Well, I got married… G: Wow! I mean, congratulations! S: And you? G: Well, it’s a bit of a long story actually… Eerm… I moved back in with my parents for a while, and then as of late last year I became the King of Spain! S: You became the King of Spain… G: Yeah – I know, it’s really weird… It’s some blood-line thing on my mum’s side… S: So you still live with your mum and dad… G: Oh, no no no… I’m living in Madrid… In the ‘Palazzo della Riente’ (Vicky laughs) S: So, you Greg have become the King of Spain… G: King Greg now! S: You must have been the laziest, most useless man I’ve ever been out with…and in one night, you’re the King of Spain… G: Yep! And apparently I’m a pretty good King! Yeah, yeah… and according to polls, I’m the best one they’ve ever had! Me – a brilliant King! Anyway – enough about me; who’s the lucky guy? S: Paul Reynolds… V: …he… he is at her work… G: Is he a King? S: No… he is… an accountant… G: Is he? That’s the sort of thing I love about being King you know…being the ruler of millions of people, blah – blah – blah, untold wealth etc., but I’ve never had a head for figures – like this guy… That must be… oh… very interesting… Well, best of luck with it!
