Attracting Yellow-Rumped Warblers to Feeders
It’s national bird feeding month! When I saw this yellow rumped warbler out on the porch, I decided I wanted to attract this winter resident to my feeding station. Water is always a good way to attract birds that might not visit feeders, but I think we might be able to entice this one to feed on this super cool suet station from my local Wild Birds Unlimited store. I’m going to use this Bark Butter and spread it thickly. And if the bird is too shy to come to the window, I’ll try spreading some Bark butter just on a piece of drift wood with a slot in it. Let’s watch! It doesn’t take long for some yellow rumps to visit the bark feeder, and then the little house suet feeder. Suet can be a great way to attract birds that otherwise don’t come to feeders. We’ll watch these little ones jockey for position.
