November 5, 2023 Twenty-Third Sunday after Pentecost

Homilist: Fr. Chris Bollegar Readings (Track 2): https://www.lectionarypage.net/YearA_... “Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work. But the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God; you shall not do any work —you, your son or your daughter, your male or female slave, your livestock, or the alien resident in your towns. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but rested the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and consecrated it.” — Exodus 20:8-11 Today I would like to take some time and begin a congregational discussion on what our goals and plans are shaping up to be for next year’s sabbatical leave. As most of you are aware, I will be taking an extended sabbatical leave (funded by a recently awarded grant!!) beginning early next summer and I would like to share with the church more details about what that will entail for all of us. This is an exciting time in the life of our church and my hope and prayer is that we can consciously participate in this together as a community.
