Understanding Hero Skills in Dark War Survival The hero skill system in Dark War Survival is designed to be simple and effective. Unlike other strategy games, it does not rely on complex parameters like low HP targeting or back-row attacks. First & Second Skills – Core Abilities First skill (Active Skill) This is the hero’s main attack skill, triggered every 11th round (e.g., rounds 11, 21, 31). All heroes of the same rarity have identical first skills in terms of damage output, despite different animations and names. Example: Tristan and Evans both deal 1719% attack damage with their level 15 first skill. Second skill (Normal Attack Skill) This is the hero’s basic attack, which occurs every round. Upgrading it boosts both normal attack and counterattack damage. The total damage output from normal attacks and the first skill is comparable, so upgrade both skills equally. Third Skill – Passive & Progression Effects The third skill can be either a passive battle boost or a progression skill that enhances gameplay outside of combat. Passive Skills (Battle Enhancements) Identified by a cross-sword icon, these skills improve attack, defense, and damage in battle. Some affect only the individual hero, while others boost the entire faction. Example: Cecilia’s third skill increases her own attack and defense. Francis’ third skill boosts the attack power of all Fighters. Progression Skills (Game Progress Boosters) These skills do not impact battles directly, but they accelerate development. Example: Corleone & Megan provide 60 minutes of free research & construction time, helping you save speed-ups and instantly complete short tasks. Catherine & Rex increase radar events and food production, making hero leveling faster. Other useful skills include boosts for research speed, unit training, and healing, all of which speed up overall progress. 💡 Tip: Prioritize heroes with progression skills early in the game to accelerate development while also maintaining strong combat power. Fourth Skill – Exclusive Hero Talent The fourth skill is an exclusive ability that only unlocks at level 40 and 4 stars. It functions like the third skill’s passive ability, providing battle enhancements. Boosts attack and defense. Some heroes gain troop capacity increases, making their armies stronger. The fourth skill is already maxed out when unlocked, meaning no further upgrades are needed. 💡 Tip: Upgrade purple and blue heroes to 4 stars as soon as possible. This provides significant power boosts without spending money. Upgrading to 5 stars is optional and not necessary for F2P players. Hero Skill Upgrade Strategy – What to Focus On? Upgrade the first & second skills together – Both deal significant damage and should be upgraded at the same rate. Prioritize heroes with useful third skills – Passive battle boosts for attack/defense and progression boosts for research/training will help in both combat and game growth. Unlock the fourth skill early – Reaching 4 stars on strong heroes will provide powerful combat bonuses without requiring extra upgrades. Use heroes with research and resource-boosting skills – These will help in long-term progress and allow for faster hero development.
