TOPIC: DO WE ALWAYS RECOGNIZE CHRIST IN OTHERS? First Reading: Ezekiel 37: 21-28 Responsorial Psalm: Jeremiah 31: 10, 11-12, 13 Verse Before the Gospel: Ezekiel 18: 31 Gospel: John 11: 45-56 There’s a saying in Filipino that goes, “Ang punong hitik sa bunga ay kadalasang pinupukol.” (It is more likely for a tree bearing much fruit to be thrown stones at.) Today’s Gospel message sounds exactly like that. Because of Jesus’ increasing popularity, more and more Church leaders were becoming scandalized by the miracles He performed. Envy started to rear its ugly head, making them fail to see the signs, so to speak, to recognize Jesus as God’s promised Messiah. As His followers, may we always ask for the grace to see and recognize the Lord in everyone and everything, and discern His will for our lives. This is the 1084th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our brother Solphie Confiado as he brings us today's reflection. All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
