Easy St. Patrick's Day Irish Raisin Soda Bread

Easy St. Patrick's Day Irish Raisin Soda Bread

This a great fruity, Irish Soda Bread, great for a pick me up on Saint Paddy's Day morning if you don't want to be bothered having a traditional Irish fry up and save hassle on washing up. Great with a big lathering of Irish Butter and if you like, some jam. Couple it with a big mug of tea, or in my case, coffee. Hey presto, a few slices of this, and you can begin your St. Patrick's Day festivities. Mine being simple, copious pints of the black stuff (Guinness), Tayto Cheese and Onion Crisps to make a crisp sandwich, and for dinner, if I am not pissed as a part in a spacesuit, a piece of Irish Guinness or Smithwicks Ale pie with Irish Champ potatoes and peas with a Guinness gravy. Try this Irish Raisin Soda Bread, and I'll guarantee you will make it regularly. Ingredients 400g Bread Flour 10g Salt 15g Bread Soda (Bicarbonate of Soda) 60g Caster Sugar 100g Raisins (or use Sultanas or mix of both) 320 - 330ml Buttermilk And if you don't want to drink coffee or tea with a few slices of this smothered in butter, well it is Saint Paddy's Day, have a Guinness with it!
