What does “mission accomplished” look like as we are sent to serve God and give our all at planting the seed of faith in others? We get a clear picture when we look to Jesus. There was nothing that would keep Him accomplishing the mission of God—God the Father moved heaven and earth to send His one and only Son. It would not only take “some effort” or even “great effort” for Jesus to accomplish the mission. Rather, justice would demand that God’s only begotten Son give His very life to bring those who trust in Him a life that has no end. The scope of His work was comprehensive, the whole of creation was His focus. And now He sends us—for His purposes, in His power, to take part in His mission! How can the church focus more on Christ’s mission? How is He sending you to share His love in word and deed with someone this week?
