The weather is cold but lots of food like Kale, Collard, tomatoes, Zucchini, mint and Herbs are still growing producing enough food daily. For starting seeds and growing in containers, I use my own easy compost, and some potting soil or broken down woodchips. Whatever I have on hand, works to grow vegetables, as I recycle and plant in many different ways. And we have not tons of mandarin oranges in our trees.
