Beginning Monday, November 16, at 6:00 a.m. the city of Chicago has issued a “stay at home” advisory, limiting gatherings to only 10 people, including worship services. Saint Luke will suspend in-person services while the advisory is in place. Services will be streamed online beginning Sunday, November 22, and also includes the Thanksgiving Service on November 26, 2020. Please pray for our country and the world as we fight this pandemic. The Church’s year comes to a conclusion this morning in the celebration of Christ the King. On this day our salvation history presents its final and still to be accomplished chapter: Christ, enthroned in glory, returns to reclaim his redeemed. On the altar, the varied colors of the growing season are gathered into golden sheaves and veiled in a white light that unifies the group yet allows its diversity to shine through. This is the grand finale of the church year. All is accomplished. The faithful return with Christ to the paradise he won for them.
