TOPIC: WHAT INHIBITS ME FROM PLUNGING FULLY INTO THE EMBRACE OF THE LIVING AND LOVING GOD? First: Genesis 23: 1-4, 19; 24: 1-8, 62-67 Psalm: Psalms 106: 1b-2, 3-4a, 4b-5 Alleluia: Matthew 11: 28 Gospel: Matthew 9: 9-13 In today’s Gospel, the Sadducees, who did not believe in the Resurrection, tested Jesus by asking him a question that they thought would put the Lord in a bad light, and discredit His teachings. However, the Lord does not even attempt to give a reply to their question. Instead, he tries to open their minds to other possibilities. We may grapple with big religious questions, but we all know is that God is the God of the living, and it His wish that we have life and have it to the full. May the Holy Spirit grant us the gift to be as bold as Jesus and faithful as the saints, like St. Josemaria, in proclaiming in faith God’s desire to be with us, even beyond the grave, knowing that we go through death to a new life in Christ. This is the 1151st installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our brother Raymond Bucu, Head of the CFC Gateway Evangelization Programs, as he brings us today's reflection. All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
