The Gender Ministry has requested an apology from Kennedy Agyepong on behalf of the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission. This follows comments made by the Member of Parliament for Assin Central which indicated that Mrs. Charlotte Osei had sexual encounters with some bigwigs in the governing NDC to be appointed EC chair. Meanwhile, Executive Director of policy think-tank IMANI Ghana Franklin Cudjoe says even though the EC chairperson is not doing well currently, she is not dumb and will definitely not trade her body for excellence. Police in Kasoa have arrested two persons suspected to be the masterminds of the murder of the Operations Manager of the Cantonments branch of Ecobank Ghana, Seth Kweku Akyea. According to the police, the two, Christopher Afreh, 30, and Abdulai Gariba, 33, are behind the robbery attack at the deceased's Kasoa residence in 2015. The police have also launched a manhunt for one other accomplice, identified only as Kojo Joe, alias Hitler, who is currently on the run. The Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) has denied media reports that it has conducted a survey on the 2016 elections in which the flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party is in commanding lead. The Daily Guide Newspaper on Monday said it has stumbled on a survey report by the BNI, with support from a pollster which casts doubts about President John Mahama and his ruling NDC’s ability to win the upcoming general election. A Deputy Minister of Finance, Mr Casssiel Ato Forson, has defended the release of GHC199 million to the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Agency (GYEEDA) in 2012, saying it was to avoid running into judgement debt in case of default. His comments came after members of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament criticised the Finance Ministry for releasing the money to youth agency, which is about 2,000 percent above the agency's budget of GHC20 million.
