An Accra High Court has dismissed the case brought before it by suspended vice chair of the NPP Sammy Crabbe, challenging his suspension by the party. According to the court, presided over by Justice Sir Dennis Adjei, the suit by Mr. Crabbe was unmeritorious and therefore could not be held on any ground. The judge opined that the NPP’s national disciplinary committee has the jurisdiction to hear and punish anyone who breaches the party's rules. Daniel Asiedu, one of the alleged murderers of the Member of Parliament for the Abuakwa North constituency has denied ever meeting with the second accused Vincent Booso. The revelation was made in court by the lawyer for the two suspects Augustine Obour. According to him, his client told him during conference that the allegation by the police that he conspired with the second accused was false. The Judicial Secretary Opoku Acheampong says the Chief Justice is not on leave, but on an official duty. Mr Acheampong was responding to a letter addressed to him by MP for Efutu Constituency Alex Afenyo Markin in which he enquired about the status of Mrs Justice Georgina Wood. Rumours were rife that the Chief Justice was on leave prior to her retirement. Head of Corporate Communications at COCOBOD, Noah Amenya says it was mandatory for the board to pay $20,000 for the venue of the signing of the $1.8 billion Cocoa Syndicated Loan in 2015. The minority in parliament has raised questions about certain expenditure items in the build-up to the signing of last year’s syndicated loan as well as how the loan itself was spent. But in an interview with Pulse.com.gh, Mr. Amenyah said the board paid for a much secured venue for the signing commensurate to the standards of the lending banks.
