Ghana moved up in the latest FIFA world ranking released on Thursday, June 2, 2016. The Black Stars moved a place up from the previous 38th position to 37th in the list on the world rankings but maintain their third position in Africa. Algeria continue to keep their top spot in Africa with 32nd position in the world ranking. Cote d’Ivoire are second in Africa and 36th in the world with Ghana, Senegal and Egypt making the top five in Africa. Members of the Hearts of Oak board were scheduled to meet on Thursday, June 2 to decide on the future of head coach of the club, Kenichi Yatsuhashi. The position of the Japanese-American trainer at the club has come under threat after several disputes with management over issues ranging from his alleged disdain for authority to discussing internal club issues on social media. English Premier League club Chelsea have shown transfer interest in the signing of Ghana international Asamoah Gyan according to reports. Shanghai SIPG are considering offloading their forward who transferred from Al Ain last year as Gyan has struggled with injuries during his time in China. Chelsea have been alerted of Asamoah Gyan’s availability and are considering a move to take the Black Stars captain back to the English Premier League. With all eyes on Marcus Rashford at Euro 2016, Brazil legend Pele has urged the England young gun not to show any fear at the showpiece tournament in France. After a stunning breakout season, Rashford is part of England's 23-man for Euro 2016, which gets underway on June 10. Rashford scored on his Premier League and Europa League debuts for Manchester United, while the 18-year-old forward became England's youngest debutant goalscorer in the nation's 2-1 win over Australia last week.
