COVID-19: Japan lifts state of emergency for 39 prefectures

Japan is lifting the state of emergency across most of the country, where COVID-19 infections are declining. Restrictions will now be eased in 39 out of 47 prefectures, but the alert will remain in place for high-risk areas, including Tokyo and Hokkaido.
