Week 29: What to Expect During Your Pregnancy + Gina's Pregnancy Journey!

Welcome to week 29 of pregnancy! This week, baby's about the size of a butternut squash or an old school fanny pack. Key highlights include baby putting on that white fat, which is important for baby’s ability to regulate their body temperature and store energy. Their bones are starting to become harder and more dense and they are putting on more muscle, making for more obvious and potentially uncomfortable movements in there. Hair may be growing a lot at this point, and they are strengthening those reflexes to be ready to grab your fingers when they are born! For expectant mothers, Roxanne discusses the effects progesterone may be having on your GI system, such as causing constipation. She shares tips on how to relieve this issue, such as fiber supplements, hydration, and magnesium. You may start to experience discomfort when laying on your back as belly grows more this trimester, compressing two large blood vessels that run down your back, directly behind your uterus. You also may begin to experience symptoms of anemia in this trimester, something your provider can test for, and we recommend Needed’s iron supplement if this does become an issue.
