TOPIC: IS YOUR HEART PRIMED WITH THE BLESSED MOTHER’S HUMILITY AS YOU JOURNEY TO ADVENT? First Reading: Genesis 3: 9-15, 20 Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 98: 1, 2-3ab, 3cd-4 Second Reading: Ephesians 1: 3-6, 11-12 Alleluia: Luke 1: 28 Gospel: Luke 1: 26-38 Today we celebrate the solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, a significant day in the Catholic Church’s calendar. We particularly honor the Blessed Virgin for being preserved free from the stain of original sin from the moment of her conception. Mary, being the mother of our Lord Jesus Christ, became the first beneficiary of the salvation brought upon us all by her Son. Today’s Gospel tells of this kind of grace given to Mary. Before Mary was able to say her Yes to God’s plan, she was first favored by God and a recipient of God’s grace. Indeed, today’s feast tells us that Mary has a special role in God’s plan of salvation. This is the 1323rd installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our brother Jess Ferrer, Head of Migrants Program, as he brings us today's reflection. All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
