#TheRejectionOfJesusAtNazareth #Happiness #Joy #Emotions TOPIC: HAVE YOU FOUND TRUE HAPPINESS? First Reading: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 96:1 AND 3, 4-5, 11-12, 13 Alleluia: Luke 4:18 Gospel: Luke 4:16-30 In today’s gospel reading, Jesus goes into a synagogue in Nazareth, His hometown, and preaches to the people. They meet him first with amazement and awe, then skepticism and doubt, followed by anger and hatred. They were amazed at His eloquence, knowing that He was a mere carpenter. But their sentiment towards Him takes a 180-degree turn and use this same reasoning ⏤ that He, being just the son of a carpenter could not be the Messiah they were expecting. They were offended by His unpatronizing words that His work is not merely with His people, the Jews, but also with pagans, with all of humanity. We reflect today on our how our emotions respond to the many stimuli around us. As we pass through the roadway of life in search of the ultimate ⏤ our happiness ⏤ the situations we face and the people we encounter shape the condition of our heart. This is the 510th installment of our CFC quarantine contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
