This practice is designed to help you calm the tidal waters of the busy and overactive mind so that you can be present and enjoy every moment of this life. You can enjoy this 25 minute practice anytime and anywhere, to quickly establish a deep sense of peace and calm from within. Let go of worries, responsibilities, the grip of the external world, and relax back into just being, your birthright. when you find peace within, then you can discover peace outside of yourself. Yoga nidra is a technique of guided meditation but also a state sometimes known as conscious sleep, wakeful sleep, or the yogi's sleep. In this completely effortless practice, all you need to do is get comfortable, relax back and just listen as you are carried into the deepest state of relaxation or light altered consciousness. The blissful wakeful sleep state of yoga nidra is sometimes referred to as non sleep deep rest or NSDR. It is in these deeper sleep states where the body undergoes deep regenerative rest and healing, as well as processing unwanted or unhelpful thoughts patterns, emotional release, and planting the seeds of new intention. In addition to restoring a nagging sleep deficit, reducing stress, calming the busy mind, restoring the nervous system and a sense of balance, studies have shown that yoga nidra can also help to reduce symptoms of insomnia, anxiety and depression. Get the deep rest you need, the deep rest you deserve. Do you ever struggle with the 'monkey mind'? Thoughts always coming and going? Oftentimes we are constantly thinking about the future or the past, thus leaving us feeling anxious or depressed. This short and gentle practice is designed to help you let go of the thinking mind and bring awareness back into the body and back home to the breath. Like an anchor, cultivating this deep sense of connect to the body and breath helps to bring one into the present moment. In this present moment you'll acknowledge that you are safe, calm, peaceful, present, and at home in oneself.
