Great Lent - Qorenan Lok Moryo Moran - Eesha Naadha - Syriac - ഈശാ നാഥാ! ܩܪܝܢܢ ܠܟ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܪܢ
This is the Boutho of Mor Yaqub from the soothoro prayers (compline) of Great Lent. This is probably the very first Boutho of Mor Yaqub that was translated into Malayalam almost 150 years ago. The older translation from 150 years ago is കര്തൃകര്ത്താവേ! നിന്നെ ഞങ്ങള് വിളിക്കുന്നിപ്പോള് and I have included that text in "blue" font in the video. In the 1960s a newer translation that starts with ഈശാ നാഥാ! വരിക തുണപ്പാന്, വിളികൂട്ടുന്നു was also published. I have also included a word for word English translation as well. In some of the stanzas the Syriac lyrics in the Pampakuda text is slightly different than the one in the text currently printed in the Middle East. It is a common practice to chant part of the Boutho of Mor Yaqub with a different tune (shuhlofo). You will notice tune changing half way thru the video. This was recorded at a musical event held in the Virgin Mary Syriac Orthodox Church in Qamishili, Syria. This recording includes only some of the stanzas. Earlier I had uploaded a video with all the stanzas; as well as the Malayalam translation (old and new). You can listen to that at: • Great Lent - Qoreynan Lok Moryo Moran - Ee... You can listen to another rendition of this hymn in the same tune at: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=522...
