In today’s gospel reading, Jesus calls for urgency in settling disputes, favoring out-of-court settlement rather than pursuing our case in the courts. In those times, those with resources and connections had the upper hand. Nonetheless, that same urgency is what He wants us to have in recognizing Him and reaching out to Him. Earlier, He used the elements of nature to emphasize that we must be sensitive to the signs of the times, to read the signs of His presence in our midst and to listen and discern well what He wants us to do and to be. Today’s psalm reminds us never to forget His precepts for through them, God gives us life. It also exhorts us to be wholehearted in our commitment to obey God’s commandments so that we will not be put to shame (Psalm 119:80, 93). This is the 563rd installment of our CFC quarantine contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
