First Reading: JoeL 1:13-15; 2:1-2 Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 9:2-3, 6 AND 16, 8-9 Alleluia: John 12:31B-32 Gospel: Luke 11:15-26 In today’s first reading, the prophet Joel exhorts the people to repentance for their sins and warns them of Judgment Day. He excludes no one and even begins with the priests and the servants in the Temple. Jesus, in today’s gospel reading, gives an image of a strong man guarding his house and possessions until someone stronger overthrows him. Jesus is stronger than any evil spirit and He is the only one who can defeat them. This is the 549th installment of our CFC quarantine contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.
