#VigilantAndFaithfulServants #BePrepared #Death TOPIC: ARE YOU PREPARED FOR AN EMERGENCY? First Reading: Romans 5:12, 15B, 17-19, 20B-21 Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 40:7-8A, 8B-9, 10, 17 Alleluia: Luke 21:36 Gospel: Luke 12:35-38 In today’s gospel reading, Jesus’ parable is about a master of a household putting on an apron and serving his slaves, those who have been faithfully serving him, around the table, waiting on them while they dined. The parable of the wise and foolish virgins in Matthew’s gospel comes to mind, too. We must be prepared with our belts on and our lamps lighted for we never know if an unexpected situation comes to rob us of our joy and contentment. There is no denying that death will eventually catch up with us. We just don’t know when. This is the 560th installment of our CFC quarantine contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
