In today’s gospel reading, Jesus foretells the destruction of the temple of Jerusalem. It took around 50 years to build and was so massive and magnificent that no one thought it could be destroyed. But 40 years after Jesus was crucified, it was destroyed by the Romans. Today’s first reading speaks of a kingdom that will never be plundered and destroyed. We are all reminded that it is only the Lord that endures, that we should not get too attached to the world and its lures. This is the 595th installment of our CFC quarantine contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
