#JesusWeepsOverJerusalem #TheChoicesWeMake #ThePathToPeace TOPIC: DO YOU WEEP FOR THE CHOICES YOU HAVE MADE? First Reading: 1 Maccabees 2:15-29 Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 50:1B-2, 5-6, 14-15 Alleluia: Psalms 95:8 Gospel: Luke 19:41-44 In today’s gospel reading, Jesus weeps as He enters Jerusalem. Jesus wept in His human form because He foresaw what will happen to him — He will suffer and meet His death as the people choose a rebel against Rome, Barabbas, over Him. They failed to choose the path to peace (Luke 19:42). We all make choices in life. Some have a happy conclusion. Others we will regret. Our Lord wants us to make the right choices, that which would be similar to what He would choose. He weeps when we make the wrong choice. Indeed, when the choices we make do not live up to our expectations, we may reach our point of tears. But our tears can become a watershed of newness that drains away our stained past so that we can begin anew. This is the 590th installment of our CFC quarantine contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. But prayer takes on a more intense nature when it has to disrupt the natural flow of things. [NOTE: All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
