#JesusAndZacchaeus #RestlessSoul #NourishedByGod #RepentanceAndForgiveness TOPIC: DO YOU FEEL A CERTAIN RESTLESSNESS IN YOUR LIFE? First Reading: 2 Maccabees 6:18-31 Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 3:2-3, 4-5, 6-7 Alleluia: 1 John 4:10B Gospel: Luke 19:1-10 In today’s gospel reading, Zacchaeus, a chief tax collector, clambers up a Sycamore tree to be able to see a passing Jesus. Short of height but wealthy, he was despised and regarded as a traitor by his fellow Jews because he squeezed large commissions and collected money for the colonizing Romans. He was most surprised when Jesus singled him out, called his name and asked to have dinner with him in his house. We reflect on how deep our own transformation is. Are we peaceful or restless as we face the many challenges in our life? If not, perhaps, our search for Him continues. Perhaps, we have not let Him dine with us to feed our heart and nourish us enough. We have instead fed on that which keeps us famished, empty and restless. This is the 588th installment of our CFC quarantine contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. But prayer takes on a more intense nature when it has to disrupt the natural flow of things. [NOTE: All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
