#TheRichMan #WhatYouVaueInLife #GivingCheerfully #LovingOthers TOPIC: ARE YOU AFRAID TO GIVE UP WHAT YOU HAVE WORKED SO HARD FOR – YOUR MONEY? First Reading: Wisdom 7:7-11 Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 90:12-13, 14-15, 16-17 Second Reading: Hebrews 4:12-13 Alleluia: Matthew 5:3 Gospel: Mark 10:17-30 Or Mark 10:17-27 In today’s gospel reading, a young, wealthy man comes to Jesus and asks Him what it would take to gain eternal life. He is apparently a good person. He professes obedience to the commandments of God. But he was, perhaps, more concerned of his own salvation to the exclusion of others. Jesus looks at this young man’s heart ⏤ and ours, as well ⏤ and asks him to take a further step on his journey. For this young man and for some of us, He asks that he give away all his wealth and follow Him. This is the 551st installment of our CFC quarantine contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
