#TheDenunciationOfTheScribes #ThePoorWidowsContribution #GivingTillItHurts #ServingGod #LovingGod TOPIC: DO YOU DESIRE FOR APPRECIATION, REWARD AND/OR RECOGNITION EVERY TIME YOU DO GOOD FOR OTHERS? First Reading: 1 Kings 17:10-16 Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 146:7, 8-9, 9-10 Second Reading: Hebrews 9:24-28 Alleluia: Mark 5:3 Gospel: Mark 12:38-44 Or Mark 12:41-44 In today’s gospel reading, Jesus criticizes the behavior of the scribes who relish every opportunity to be acknowledged, praised and honored. In contrast, Jesus points out to his apostles a poor widow who put a very small amount of money into the Temple treasury ⏤ two small coins, the equivalent of a penny. She gave all she had. She lived the commandment of loving God in the way she knew. We reflect on our motivation for serving God. This is the 579th installment of our CFC quarantine contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
