First Reading: Daniel 5: 1-6, 13-14, 16-17, 23-28 Responsorial Psalm: Daniel 3: 62, 63, 64, 65, 66, 67 Alleluia: Revelation 2: 10c Gospel: Luke 21: 12-19 In today's Gospel, Jesus consoles his listeners: While believers will be hated by all because of His name, "not a hair on our head will be destroyed" and that "by perseverance you will secure your life.” Are these words of Jesus consoling and reassuring to us? Because Jesus calls us to follow him, knowing that if we choose to follow him, the path also may lead us to the cross.   This is the 1315th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.
