#TheParableOfTheHiddenTreasure #TheParableOfThePearl #SearchingForMeaning #SearchingForSatisfaction TOPIC: HAVE YOU DISCOVERED WHAT YOU SHOULD REALLY BE SEARCHING FOR? First Reading: Exodus 34:29-35 Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 99:5, 6, 7, 9 Alleluia: John 15:15B Gospel: Matthew 13:44-46 In today’s gospel reading, Matthew narrates the 5th and 6th parable but with contrasting emphasis. In the first, a man stumbles upon a treasure in a field and quickly puts it back. In the second parable, a jewel merchant searches for the most valuable pearl, finds it, and sells all of his other pearls to buy the pearl of great price. Jesus says that these two images represent the Kingdom of God. This is the 477th installment of our CFC quarantine contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
