TOPIC: HAVE YOU LIVED A FULL LIFE IN CHRIST? First Reading: Wisdom 13: 1-9 Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 19: 2-3, 4-5ab Alleluia: Luke 21: 28 Gospel: Luke 17: 26-37 In today’s Gospel reading, what was Jesus trying to get across to His listeners? Further, what is He saying to us today as well? As we all know, at some point, the “end of time” will come. However, we do not know the day or the hour it will happen. Neither do we know in what form or situation this will be. We saw that in Israel, Ukraine, and other horrifying tragedies and calamities, where the loss of lives came unexpectedly and suddenly. Here, the stark description that Jesus gives us is not an inviting nor a hopeful message. Jesus is thus calling us to repent for our sins. If we heed His call, we shall have eternal life. This is the 1302nd installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our brother Jess Ferrer, Head of Migrants Program, as he brings us today's reflection. All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
