First Reading: Wisdom 2: 1a, 12-22 Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 34: 17-18, 19-20, 21 and 23 Verse Before the Gospel: Matthew 4: 4b Gospel: John 7: 1-2, 10, 25-30 Jesus had a real tough time trying to convince people that He was “from above”. He was rejected by some, as they couldn't believe that someone great can actually come from Nazareth. Others were confused about who He is. The authorities, on the other hand, hunted Him down like a criminal and were out to kill Him. Despite all these manifestations of rejection, Jesus persevered in doing his Father’s business even at the cost of his life. Jesus possessed that single-minded determination and persistence in accomplishing His mission. But today, 2000 years later, Jesus' death on the cross produced over 2.2 billion believers in the whole wide world. This is the 1077th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our brother Jess Ferrer, CFC Migrants Program Head, as he brings us today's reflection. All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
