(About the size of a “chicken wing”) ❇️Create the Wet Batter by mixing all of the ingredients into a small bowl and set aside. ❇️Create the Dry Coating by pulsing your pretzels (or other chosen item) in the food processor to create a crumb like consistency and set aside. ❇️Preheat oven to 400* F ❇️Double Coat your “wings” by first rolling around the wet batter, and then transferring to the dry coating. From here transfer BACK into the wet batter and then one last time into the dry coating before placing on a parchment lined cookie sheet. ❇️Bake in the oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown. ❇️While the wings are baking, create your BBQ & Buffalo sauces by combining the ingredients in two separate bowls. ❇️After 30 minutes, take your wings out of the oven and let them sit on the counter for 10 minutes or until they are cool to the touch. ❇️Coat each individual wing in your sauces, half BBQ & half Buffalo, and return to parchment paper lined cookie sheet. ❇️Return to the 400* F oven for another 15-20 minutes. ❇️ENJOY! 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱If you’re looking for more easy, plant-based recipes just like this one, make sure you subscribe!🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱 These Battered & Baked Oil Free Cauliflower Wings are gonna totally blow your mind! Did you know that during the Super Bowl this year, an estimated ten million Americans consumed about 160 million plant-based wings? I’m proud to say we were a part of that stat this year, creating these incredible oil free, baked cauliflower wings that definitely didn’t disappoint. We started by making a wet batter - which consisted of mixing together chickpea flour and aquafaba (or the cooking liquid from chickpeas) Aquafaba worked really well for this recipe but you could also use plant milk, veggie stock, or water as an alternative. We also added some flavoring to the wet batter like hot sauce, garlic, and some thyme. You can Swap out the hot sauce for things like teriyaki sauce or bbq sauce, or mix up the herbs and spices. After this wet batter was created- we moved onto a dry coating. For this recipe we personally used gluten free pretzel sticks pulsed up in a food processor Some other good alternatives would be cracker crumbs, bread crumbs, or corn starch. Once our wet batter and dry coating were created, it was time to preheat the oven to 400 and start the process of coating our cauliflower wings. We discovered that the real trick to getting a great coating on these cauliflower wings is to double batter them. This means we coat them in the wet batter first, then the dry coating. From there we put them back into the wet batter, and back into the dry coating before putting them on the parchment lined cookie sheet. This process takes a little more time but I promise it’s worth it in the end! Now we’re gonna put these bad boys in the oven for 30 minutes until they are golden brown. And while they’re in the oven, we are going to start to create our sauces - which really takes these cauliflower wings to the next level We decided to make two sauces, here, a buffalo and a barbecue Now the cauliflower wings have been in the oven for about 30 minutes and we let them sit on the counter for about 10 minutes to cool to the touch. This makes them a bit easier to work with for this next step. We are going to roll them around in the sauces , half in bbq and half in buffalo, and then put them back on the parchment line cookie sheet to bake in the oven at 400 for another 15 to 20 minutes.
