Thank you. TOPIC: WILL MY COMPASSION LEAD TO ACTION? First Reading: Ezekiel 37: 12-14 Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 130: 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 Second Reading: Romans 8: 8-11 Verse Before the Gospel: John 11: 25a, 26 Gospel: John 11: 1-45 Empathy. Compassion. Today's gospel narrative displays both as characteristics of Jesus. His ability to willingly enter deeply into the pain and suffering of another person is what makes the Lord a model of how we, too, must empathize and show compassion. However, we must not stop there. Feeling other people's suffering and sharing in it should move us to do something, to act on that empathy, not to show off, but to abet their suffering and herald the greatness of God. This is the 1079th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our brother Israel Silud as he brings us today's reflection. All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
