Lesson 13 | Thursday, September 25 JESUS DWELLED WITH HUMANITY Read John 1:14. How does the incarnation of Christ compare to the Tabernacle? The incarnation of Jesus is a mystery that the redeemed will study for all eternity. The apostle John affirms that Christ dwelt with us tangibly when He became incarnate. By virtue of the incarnation, Jesus resembles the God of the Old Testament, who dwelt with the Israelites in the Tabernacle at Sinai and in the wilderness as they journeyed toward the Promised Land. During his incarnation, Jesus dwelt with humanity. What an unfathomable concession! The eternal God descends to us as one of us to assure us that he is truly “Immanuel, God with us.” In Matthew 18:20, Jesus said that if two or three gather in his name, he will be there in their midst. Christ is with his people by virtue of the presence of the Holy Spirit and invites his followers to have a close relationship with him: “I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to his house and dine with him, and he with me” (Revelation 3:20). Read Revelation 21:1-3. What is presented here? The New Jerusalem will descend from Heaven to Earth, and John declares: “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them and be their God” (Revelation 21:3). There is no temple in the New Jerusalem (Revelation 21:22) because the entire city is the Temple, the Sanctuary of God. The length, breadth, and height of the city are equal (Revelation 21:16), as was the Holy of Holies in the Sanctuary, which was shaped like a cube, with all its sides equal. This means that we will dwell in the immediate presence of our God for eternity, in a world without sin, death, or suffering. How can we learn to endure to the end in light of what has been promised to us through the ministry and work of Jesus? #danielherrerajerez #biblelessons #sabbatianschool2023 #danielherrerajerez ⏩God bless you, brothers and sisters of the Bible Lessons community.
